mark shaw + audrey hepburn

I think if I could go back in time to interview anyone, it would be Mark Shaw. In addition to photographing the starlets of Hollywood’s golden age and working for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar circa 1950 and 1960, Shaw was the Kennedy White House’s unofficial photographer. I mean, to sit down with an individual who could give you first-hand accounts of what Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Diana Vreeland and Audrey Hepburn were like in person? Priceless. I adore these candid stills of Audrey courtesy of the Andrew Wilder Gallery (all of which are for sale, btw). Shaw was a master of capturing the right moment... he makes it look so easy. And to think, all of these were taken with plain old film!

an interview with tim walker

It's been almost two years since I discovered fashion photographer Tim Walker - I was instantly obsessed, of course. Since then, I've devoured anything and everything that I can find about the man, though I’m sad to admit that I’ve yet to purchase his book (tsk, tsk). Anywho, this short film is my most recent discovery. I’m thanking my lucky stars that the film’s director included a few stills of Mr. Walker’s scrapbooks, which the photographer describes as “a cupboard full of ingredients.” Walker saves everything that intrigues him and pastes them in these books – they later serve as inspiration for the fashion shoots we readers swoon over. I’d die to peek inside his scrapbook archive… But who knows? Maybe someday they’ll be published à la Cecil Beaton. One can only hope!

ce petit coeur

Every once in awhile, I’ll stumble across an amazing photographer whose work blows my mind. Macau trực tuyến BaccaratDara Quesada, a cute young thing who lives in Madrid, is one such artist. Upon sighting the Nina Campbell “perroquet” wallpaper that makes numerous gust appearances in her photos, I knew she was one of my own! Her eye for color and design, in my opinion, is one of a kind. In other words, I’m obsessed :) For more Dara, visit ce petit coeur, her lovely flickr account, + girly, her aptly-titled tumblr. I’m waiting on pins and needles for her next photoshoot - I just know it'll be jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Macau trực tuyến Baccaratalice waters + apartamento

When I picked up the newest issue of Apartamento today, I was thrilled to see that the magazine included an interview with Alice Waters (of Chez Panisse + The Edible Schoolyard Project fame). The article, of course, is wonderful, but it’s really the accompanying illustrations that caught my attention. They’re by Spanish artist Jordi Labanda (who has an eye for color like you wouldn’t believe). I bought my copy at this goldmine of an independent bookstore called Ooga Booga, located in LA’s Chinatown. Lucky for you, the store also has an online boutique where you can purchase a copy of Apartamento for your archives - click here if you're intersted!

the illustrated world of candy pratts price

Candy Pratts Price’s commissioned illustrations of fashion week’s front row elite were too good not to repost! The creative director asked artist Jessica Repetto to draw some of the industry’s most notable movers and shakers - I spy Beyoncé, Anna, Grace and Hamish. Someday, just once, I hope to be amongst them... :)
