girl crush: léa seydoux

I’m a huge fan of Léa Seydoux. You know, that beautiful French actress whose character won over Luke Wilson’s character in Midnight in Paris? And more recently, the (well-suited) face of Prada Candy? Anyway, girl’s got amazing style both on the red carpet and off. The red lipstick fiend I am, I’m super excited to try her YSL Pur Couture recommendation (I bet she wears "Le Rouge"! Confession: I just ordered it...). Also, I’ve never seen Jean Cocteau’s La Bell et la Bête – must get on that ASAP. If you’re on the fence about Léa, just try to watch this interview without developing a huge girl crush. Can we say adorable?!

my favorite fragrances

A few weeks ago, I  dragged my brother to Sephora and had him help me pick out a new perfume (cruel, I know. but in my defense, I had just helped him pick out a pair of shoes!). We smelled a ton of fragrances and weren't too impressed... until we tested Vera by Vera Wang. Have you tried it? It's so yummy! I bought a little bottle and have worn it every day since. Another favorite fragrance of mine is Creed's Spring Flowers. My best friend in high school, Mallory, wore it and I love. Perhaps that it was created for Audrey Hepburn has something to do with it, too? :) I also like Fracas, which was recommended to me by my friend Caroline. Similar to Spring Flowers, it's a classic floral loved by tastemakers - Sofia Coppola told Vanity Fair it was her go-to (see all of her favorite things here). Have you tried anything yummy lately?

the scent of a woman

Exactly seven months and eight days ago, I professed my new-found love for Chanel's Allure. I thought for certain that I'd found my signature scent. But then, something strange happened: my boyfriend was not a fan. Now, I'm not the type of girl to change myself at the whim of a significant other. I happen to like it, and I'll wear it until I don't. However, it would be wonderful to find an additional something that would make Chanel's famous one-liner (“A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed.”) ring true.

My aunt once swore that she used to wear a D&G perfume, now discontinued, that drove men absolutely wild. I wonder... have you ever worn a scent to a similar effect? Aside from your daily fragrance, do you have a "date night" scent?

P.S. Inès de la Fressange on perfume :)
