beyoncĂ©'s "why don't you love me"

Macau trực tuyến Baccarat"Why Don't You Love Me" - Beyoncé from Beyoncé on Vimeo.

Now that it’s finally summer, it seems like everyone is once again thinking about Mad Men— and Beyonce Knowles is no different. In her newest video, “Why don’t you love me,” Bey channels the early 1960s housewife (and has never looked better). Have you seen it? She spends most of the video twirling about in retro-couture Dolce & Gabbana lingerie + satin pumps. Oh, and she also takes a moment to dust her grammys with a feather duster.. amazing. It was written by Solange + directed by Melina Matsoukas (a woman famous for giving her videos a retro-feel). I really hope to see this pair work together again-- just think of the possibilities!

she & him, volume two

I really didn't think that this day could get any better until I stumbled across Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward's new album, She & Him (volume two). If you love the sound of Vampire Weekend and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, you're going to love this album. It's the perfect soundtrack to the beginning of a beautiful Spring. The album won't be released until March 23, but you can listen to it streaming on NPR until its release date. And you want to listen to this. Trust me-- it's gorgeous!

la vie en rose

Salut, mes amis! I've been dying to post this video of Edith Piaf singing the ever-classic La Vie En Rose since I saw La Môme this weekend. If you haven't seen the film, you absolutely must rent it! Or, at least consider putting it on your Netflix queue. What an incredible story!

beach house

Last weekend, my boyfriend was helping me edit a video and turned on Beach House's newest album, Teen Dream, to play in the background while we worked. It was so amazing that I almost became upset-- how could he held out on telling me about such a great band?! In a post about the band on his blog, he describes the album "as if Karen O. [from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs] got together with the xx." I say that Teen Dream's album cover, below, is a perfect portrayal of their serene, dreamlike sound. All of that aside, I'm a big fan of any band that incorporates Jonathan Adler pottery into their photos! Make sure to check out Beach House's myspace to listen to some of their tracks-- you're going to love!
