scenes from milan

Simply put, these street style photos taken during Milan’s fashion week knocked my socks off. Sunshine yellow seems to be the color of the moment and I, for one, am loving it. Another trend discreetly showcased in the above? Vintage-esque rhinestone accessories (see photo #2). Prada brought them back in a big way with their Spring/Summer ’12 collection – I’m a bit obsessed. I'm looking for a necklace, but a sparkly rhinestone pin + earring set might do the trick, too. I mean, paired with a feminine sundress? Can you even imagine? :)

brigitte lacombe

Brigitte Lacombe is a French photographer who takes incredible behind-the-scenes shots of large Hollywood productions, among other things (lucky girl!). I discovered her breathtaking body of work after coming across a few of her photos of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. Above, we have images from her “film sets” portfolio (which can be viewed in its entirety on her website), including scenes from Revolutionary Road, Nine, Coco Before Chanel, Inglorious Bastards, and The Iron Lady. How talented is she?

i heart cat eyes

I’ve been trying my hardest to avoid it, but I think it’s time for me to get glasses! My eyesight, though still pretty good, just isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Ooh, the perils of aging. I’m obsessed with cat eye spectacles (I wear cat eye sunglasses everyday already - see here :) and would like to find a good vintage pair but don’t have the slightest clue as to where to begin. Know of any great vintage eyewear websites? Etsy vendors? Reasonably priced eyewear boutiques in the Los Angeles area? I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! xx

Helen Johannesen has got to be one of the kindest, most patient, and funniest human beings to walk this earth. She also happens to be my boss. Ms. Helen was recently featured on Closet Visit, an LA-based website for those who love house, home + fashion. The site is total eye candy – browsing the archives makes for hours of entertainment. But back to Helen... isn't she adorable? She's just one of those people who "gets" it. I'm so lucky to work with her :) Love you, HJ!
