kate spade to launch home line!

OH. MY. LORD. Kate Spade is launching a home line this fall. Yes, it's true-- check for yourself. I’m so excited! In celebration, I decided to post photos of creative director Deborah Lloyd's home as featured in the February 2009 issue of Harper's Bazaar. Her Brooklyn brownstone seems absolutely lovely, but very few pictures were included with the article! I wish Elle Décor would take it upon themselves to do a bigger feature. Apparently, her favorite color is pink (mine, too!)-- It's all over her home. Is it wrong to hope that Kate Spade’s new home collection is saturated with it? Ooh, I am just over the moon—their Spring collection was to-die-for. I can’t wait to see what comes this fall! Yay!

(these low-quality images were scanned by me!)

in my bag!

Last week, Mackenzie of Design Darling tagged me in a “Bag, Tag, Bag” post—I was so excited! I had never been tagged before and could not wait to participate. So, Ms. Mackenzie, here are the contents of my little straw tote as promised : )
I just got the new J. Crew catalog in the mail and am obsessed, so I’ve been carrying it around with me everywhere. Lying on top of the catalog are two pearl barrettes (from Forever 21, if you can believe it!) and a gorgeous coin purse that my grandmother brought back from a recent trip to Provence.
I’m not one for a lot of makeup, but I always carry around a small bottle of Kiehl’s Crème de Corps and a tube of Bobbi Brown lipstick (the shade is blue raspberry—it looks great on pale blondes!).
As for the rest, I have a hot pink case for my glasses, a hot pink and gold Kate Spade planner, a pink blackberry that is on its ninth life (can you tell that I love pink?) and a LV checkbook case. Oh, and a Michele watch that I’m dying to get a black alligator band for.
The straw tote and Vera scarf tied around it are both Etsy finds (which, together, cost less that $20!). I just switched out my bag for Spring, although Kate Spade used to carry her straw tote year-round. I can’t imagine using this tote in winter!
I think I'm supposed to pick five more bloggers to show the contents of their purse, but I can't choose! If you're up to the challenge and would like to post, let me know-- I'd love to see.

It seems like headpieces are everywhere this spring! As much as I wish I could wear a little floral number in my hair like the model on the cover of the April J. Crew catalog (which is genius), I think I’ll play it safe and stick to something along the lines of what Catherine Deneuve is wearing in the photo above. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from around the Internet. Will you be wearing headpices in these warmer months? They're so sweet, I don't know how anyone could resist!

one: Anthropologie's epic headband, two:'s no. 104 (technically, it's a bridal headpiece but who's counting?),
three:'s M, four: emersonmade's ballet dahlia hair clip. Photo of Ms. Deneuve from here

Macau trực tuyến BaccaratWes Anderson on NPR's Fresh Air

If you are like me and are obsessed with Wes Anderson, you might enjoy the interview he did last Friday with Terry Gross of NPR's Fresh Air about the making of Fantastic Mr. Fox. I find the film so fascinating because literally everything in the set was hand-crafted under Mr. Anderson's supervision. I'm dying to get my hands on the book he wrote about the behind-the-scenes process of making the film (thank you Samantha of post-grad hair cut for informing me that it even existed!). If you have yet to see the film, you're in luck-- it was just released on DVD last week. To be honest, I thought it was a little slow, but it's worth taking the time to watch because it is so aesthetically beautiful!
